Job Type Full-time FLSA Status Non-Exempt Working Status Full Time Work Schedule M - F, 3rd shift (10:00pm - 6:30am) Job Summary A Chemical Operator is responsible for safely loading and monitoring chemical reactions according to SOPs while ensuring precision in processing. They conduct essential equipment maintenance, package urethane batches as required, and complete assignments following industrial manufacturing principles. Accurate system data recording is a key part of their role, supporting efficiency and compliance. Additionally, they perform physical tasks in a safe and effective manner, contributing to a well-regulated production environment. Job Responsibilities Load and monitor chemical reactions per SOP. Perform necessary maintenance on associated equipment. Package urethane batches as required per SOP. Complete job assignments per Lean manufacturing concepts. Accurately record system data as required per Lean standards. Physically able to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of experience. Previous experience in Lean manufacturing environment. Ability to multi-task with emphasis on Safety and Quality. Computer skills in Microsoft programs Excel and Word. Passing score on a CRC exam. Preferred Qualifications Experience with vacuum systems will be viewed as a plus. Some college education preferred. Experience with loading and monitoring of chemical reactions requiring accurate additions to meet product specifications preferred. Computer skills in Microsoft programs Excel and Word. Physical Demands Walking (~50-60% of shift): move between work areas. Standing (~50-80% of shift): on floor (concrete/metal), steps/ladders throughout shift. Balancing (~0-5%): climb or stand on a ladder while working at/above waist or shoulder level as needed. Climbing – stairs and ladders (~15-30%): up/down stairs to move between levels within building (up to 3 levels, 20-125 steps) through shift. Laying Down (~0-2%): ground level or at ceiling height to install/remove pipes, fittings, component parts as needed. Twisting (~0-10%): may occur to access pipes/equipment in order to remove/install as needed. Squatting/Crouching/Kneeling (~0-10%): may occur to install/remove pipes, valves, fittings, drain lines/equipment throughout shift. Bending (~0-30%): may occur to access pipes/fittings/parts/equipment in limited spaces; crouching/squatting/twisting may be required to improve access throughout shift. Lifting/Lowering/Carrying (~5-30%): bags/pails of raw materials (over 50 lbs), empty 55-gallon drums (over 45 lbs) throughout shift; full 55-gallon drums (over 500 lbs) as needed. Pushing/Pulling (~20-35%): using bung wrenches or small wrenches, ensuring valves open/closed, moving full 55-gallon drums (over 500 lbs) as needed. Gripping/Handling (~20-35%): various tools, steel pipes variable length up to 10 ft, valves, ladders weight 10-50 lbs as needed. Reaching – below shoulder level (~30-50%): access valves, lever-lock drums over 50 lbs, crouching/squatting/twisting for improved access throughout shift. Reaching – above shoulder level (~5-10%): access forklift driving compartment.
