Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm and life safety systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring compliance with applicable fire alarm codes and regulations.
ResponsibilitiesInstall, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, detection devices, emergency lighting, and related life safety equipment.
Diagnose and repair faults specifically within fire alarm and control systems.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance according to national and local fire alarm standards (e.g., NFPA 72) and regulatory requirements.
Complete detailed service reports , testing documentation, and compliance records for fire alarm systems.
Ensure all work complies with local fire alarm codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Communicate findings and recommendations regarding system status and upgrades to customers and management.
Respond to service calls and emergency fire alarm maintenance requests when required.
Coordinate with customers, contractors, and project managers on system installation, programming, and maintenance activities.
Maintain tools, programming equipment , and company vehicles in good working condition.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of fire alarm, detection, programming, and low-voltage life safety systems.
Troubleshooting: Proven experience troubleshooting, programming, and repairing fire alarm control panels and peripheral devices.
Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system specifications.
Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Independence: Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and handle on-site service calls.
Certifications: Relevant fire alarm certifications or state/local.
Platform Experience: Experience with leading fire alarm manufacturers such as Honeywell, Notifier, Edwards, Siemens, Kidde, or similar platforms.
Codes: Deep knowledge of applicable national, state, and local fire alarm and building codes.
Leadership: Experience supervising junior fire alarm technicians or apprentices.
