High School Spanish Teacher (2026-2027)
Location: Houston, TX
School: Westbury Christian School
Salary: $45,000 – $55,000 per year

Westbury Christian School is seeking a passionate High School Spanish Teacher to join our Houston, TX, team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to learn the Spanish language, encourage math confidence through engaging, personalized instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver dynamic lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum, Christian values, and state standards.
• Integrate faith and learning in meaningful and relevant ways.
• Create a supportive classroom environment where students feel confident learning a second language.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to improve performance and language skills.
• Develop and support a comprehensive Spanish language program that meets diverse student needs. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and other community initiatives.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and support.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school's continuous improvement.
• Uphold the school's mission, values, and policies.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success and the overall school community.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development days, and school events as required.
• Support and participate in the school’s faith development programs.
  

Qualifications:

• Committed Christian who is a faithful member of a local Christian church. Successful applicants must affirm the Statement of Faith and Biblical Principles, which can be found
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certificate.
• High school Spanish teaching experience preferred (Spanish I-IV; AP Spanish); new graduates with strong enthusiasm for LOTE education are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Creative, motivated, and dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
• Alignment with the school's core values: relational, growth mindset, teamwork, commitment, and creativity.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to move around classroom, including navigating student desks and materials
• Ability to communicate clearly and audibly, including speaking and hearing
• Ability to lift and carry materials, including occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Bending, squatting, and reaching
• Manual dexterity to use office equipment, manipulate books and other learning materials, and assist students with various activities
• Frequent writing, keyboarding and other repetitive motions
