We are seeking a hands-on, organized, and service-driven Kitchen Supervisor to support the daily operation of our corporate venue kitchen. This role is responsible for helping lead kitchen staff, ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality food for meetings, events, and daily food service, while upholding the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and compliance. Working closely with the General Manager, the Kitchen Supervisor will help coordinate kitchen workflow, monitor quality and portion control, support inventory and labor management, and foster a professional, efficient, and hospitality-focused environment that delivers an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations

  • Supervise and actively participate in the preparation and execution of breakfast and lunch service, as well as additional food services requested by the client.
  • Ensure efficient kitchen operations by overseeing food preparation, plating, cleaning, and end-of-service breakdown procedures.
  • Support the café team with food preparation, production, and catering execution to ensure seamless daily service and event support.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation for all menu items.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment while ensuring full compliance with New York Department of Health (DOH) food safety regulations and company standards.
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, and sanitation practices are consistently followed by the kitchen team.

Inventory & Ordering

  • Oversee daily food service operations within a corporate office setting, including ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Monitor, track, and report inventory levels, including maintaining waste logs, and communicate updates to the General Manager, Corporate Chef de Cuisine, and commissary team.

Menu Development

  • Assist with developing and rotating breakfast and lunch menus that incorporate seasonal ingredients, balanced nutrition, and client preferences.

Collaboration & Client Experience

  • Collaborate with on-site teams to ensure strong coordination and maintain exceptional food and service quality.
  • Address customer feedback professionally and communicate insights to the management team to support continuous improvement and enhance the overall guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience in a food and beverage or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems such as CaterExpert is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational and inventory management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation standards.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds as needed.
  • New York City Food Handler’s Certificate required.

Location: New York, NY

Base salary: $29.00/hour
