Custom Service and Design (CSD) is a liquid industrial filtration manufacturer designing and building for manufacturing since 1993. We are located in Auburn Hills MI. CSD’s products are found in a wide range of industries, including automotive, oil, and ground remediation.
Who We Want:
CSD is seeking a Fitter / MIG Welder for 1st Shift in Auburn Hills, MI. The hours are 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., with opportunities for overtime as the workload allows. The ideal candidate would come with a strong background working with carbon and stainless steel MIG welding. Our product lines are cylindrical (pipe/tube/rolled plate). CSD requires a welding test prior to hiring.
What You Will Be Doing
Fitter/Welders read the engineering drawings, fit/set up the provided parts for the job and weld the project efficiently.
- Handling, fitting, welding and assembling materials per the Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Ensuring that all products in their department are fabricated, welded to the provided BOM
- Weld components in the round (pipe/tube/rolled plate) as well as some flat
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand tools and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
- Assist with the layout, positioning, alignment, and securing of parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Work closely with other team members to accurately fulfill customer orders on time.

What Requirements Are Needed
- Integrity, energy, creativity and a positive attitude
- Critical thinking and good judgment
- Experience in fabrication and MIG welding in a variety of materials (Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel)
- Ability to read a BOM and engineering drawings for the purpose of assembling projects
- Mechanical abilities; skills in using tools such as saws, drills, grinders, cut off wheels, clamps, levels, tape measures
- Communicate effectively with co-workers
- Team player who can also work without supervision
Physical Requirements
Must have the physical strength and endurance to be able to perform duties as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend. CSD does provide tools of assistance, crane, positioners, welding tables, portable tools to assist daily activities.
