Position Title Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer
Key Required Skills Linux OS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8+, AWS core services (e.g., EC2, S3 ALB, VPC) AWS CloudFormation, DevOps, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Nexus, BitBucket, NGINX, Ansible scripting.
Position Description - Architect, design, code, and implement next-generation technical solutions using software engineering best practices in the latest technologies:
- Provide expertise in one or more of these areas: DevOps, CI/CD, AWS, Ansible, RedHat, NGINX, Governance, Monitoring.
- Investigate and repair defects regardless of component.
- Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience
- All other duties as assigned or directed
Detailed Skills Requirements Foundation for Success (Basic Qualifications): This experience is the foundation a candidate needs to be successful in this position:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
- 7+ years of experience with implementing, managing and monitoring environments utilizing Cloud technologies such as AWS in Private (on-premise) or Commercial/Public (off-premise) clouds.
- 5+ years of experience implementing and managing CI/CD systems and methodologies on AWS.
Factors to Help You Shine (Required Skills): These skills will help you succeed in this position:
- Experience with implementing, managing and monitoring environments utilizing Cloud technologies such as AWS in Private (on-premise) or Commercial/Public (off-premise) clouds.
- Experience implementing AWS core services (e.g., EC2, ALB, ELB, EBS, IAM, S3, VPC, Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch) and working with AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD systems and methodologies on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and the use of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, Nexus, Bitbucket etc.
- Experience working with Linux OS and RHEL 8+.
- Experience with Ansible scripting and NGINX.
- Ability to understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation.
- Experience with defining and deploying monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS including Splunk, Nagios and Dynatrace.
- Experience implementing systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Scrum and/or Kanban Agile development process, ceremonies (scrums, backlog grooming, retrospectives, demonstrations) and tools (e.g., Jira, VersionOne, Confluence).
- Strong communication and collaborative skills in providing technical direction and hands-on software deployment.
How to Stand Out from the Crowd (Desired Skills) Showcase your knowledge of Tableau through the following experience or skills:
- Prior SSA or Federal government experience.
- Complex scripting, debugging, data analysis, problem analysis and resolution of issues within open-source applications.
- Understanding and practical experience with PaaS and IaaS categories of Cloud computing.
- Experience with source code versioning and Pull Requests with Git and Stash/BitBucket.
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently as needed.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with customers and other team members.
Education - Master's degree and 5+ years of experience in a related field or bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in a related field
