About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Marketplace to take the lead in owning and scaling its marketplace business. This executive will be responsible for the overall strategy, P&L, and roadmap, with a focus on driving sustainable, profitable growth. The role involves serving as the business owner for the marketplace, working cross-functionally with various stakeholders, and leading a team to execute the commercial and operational aspects of the business. The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years' experience in marketplaces, ticketing, live events, or related B2B/B2B2C businesses, with at least 2 years in leadership roles. They should possess deep expertise in marketplace and ticketing dynamics, operational excellence, and a proven track record in partner and vendor management. Key responsibilities for the VP, Marketplace include defining and owning the growth strategy, managing the sales team, and leading supply and partner management. The role requires a hands-on leader who is data-driven, with strong analytical skills and a history of cross-functional influence. The successful candidate will be a commercial leader, comfortable with setting quotas, coaching teams, and negotiating with senior executives. They should be adept at designing and implementing operational models, streamlining processes, and using systems and automation to drive efficiency. The VP, Marketplace will also be expected to build a data-driven culture, continuously improve operations, and ensure that the team is focused on high-value activities.
