Associate Attorney – Complex Insurance Coverage & Litigation

Peters & Nye LLP | Northwest Suburbs (Chicago) In-Person Position (Hybrid - Two days a week remote)

The Role

We are seeking a motivated, well-credentialed Associate Attorney with 2–6 years of legal experience to join our growing practice. This is an ideal role for an attorney who wants to move beyond "document review" and into a position with immediate responsibility and a clear path for professional development. This role includes both claims handling duties and litigation duties. This role includes a hybrid option to work remotely two days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic counsel on complex insurance coverage issues and litigation.
• Draft high-level legal research memos, coverage opinions, and pleadings.
• Assist in all phases of litigation, from discovery to trial preparation.
• Collaborate directly with partners on international and domestic insurance matters.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 2–6 years of legal practice (litigation or insurance coverage preferred)(salary commensurate with experience)(mutiple annual bonus opportunities)
• Skills: Exceptional writing and analytical skills are non-negotiable. We value strategic thinkers who can navigate complex legal landscapes. You will be handing claims from their inception until settlement and/or trial.
• Mindset: A desire to be a long-term contributor to a sophisticated, growing practice.
• Credentials: Strong academic background and active Illinois Bar license (or eligibility to waive in).
